Here are 8 Fun Facts about me …

  • When my youngest child went off to college, so did I.  Twice.  I love all things movement and studied to be a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).  While practicing as a PTA, I decided I love all things bodywork.  So, back I went to study Therapeutic Massage.  Along the way, I also added the credentials of Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Essentrics® Instructor.

  • I love to travel.  To me, a good destination involves good eats.  It’s safe to say I would enjoy eating my way around the globe.  I also do OK in the kitchen and make an awesome Chiang Mai Curry (Kao Soi).

  • I love to learn.  And I love to take notes.  I have dozens of filled notebooks, covering a variety of topics from How to Make Lasagna Soup to Gym Workouts.  And a shameless affinity for index cards.

  • I would really like to travel the country in a VW Minivan (sadly, this one is not mine).

  • I am a disciplined person.  Disciplined enough to go from couch-sitting to self-training for a half marathon.  It wasn’t about the time – it was about setting and accomplishing a goal.  I no longer run; but I do walk long distances outdoors on a regular basis.

  • Doing bodywork as someone coming from a therapeutic background is challenging.  I worked in a spa setting where people want to check out of their bodies.  I wanted them to understand and care for their bodies in and beyond the massage room space.

  • I love to read and collect books.  I sort my books by color for display.  Nearly one-half of my book collection is cookbooks.  I read my cookbooks for inspiration.  And then look for a new restaurant to try.

  • I was born to be a girl-mom and have 3 grown daughters.  I’m slowly gaining boys in the mix and couldn’t ask for finer young men to balance the family.
